Hairy Hounz founded in 2015 is now under new management.
The ethos of the charity remains the same to take in any dogs in need and place them in a suitable foster home. During their time there they are fully vet checked and anything that they require is done and brought up to date. All our foster carers are carefully vetted by ourselves.
We have a dog behaviourist that gives up her free time to help any foster carer that has a dog with issues that need addressing.
Once we are certain that the dog in question is ready we set about finding them their furever home. Any prospective adopters are fully checked and have to meet with the dog to ensure that it is the right fit for all concerned before we agree to the adoption.
Our adoption fee is a donation of £300, which is used to cover any chipping, vaccinations, health checks, neutering, flea and worm treatment, and any other items the vet deems necessary. Puppies are £400, and the fee is slightly less for senior dogs. Our dogs regularly cost more than this, and we heavily rely on other donations and sponsorships to make up the shortfalls.
Everyone that is a part of the Charity is a volunteer with no one being paid any kind of remuneration. They give their time and their homes for free and we think the world of all our foster carers and volunteers without whom this would not happen.
In 2018 we took in and found furever homes for over 20 lovely dogs. All happily settled in their new homes now and part of a new family.
